New iPad TV ad “We’ll Never”

Apple has a new TV ad with the iPad showing how the iPad is changing the way we do things. Just like the “If you asked” Tv ad.

We’ll never stop sharing our memories… or getting lost in a good book. We’ll always cook for our favorite team. We’ll still go to meetings, make home movies, and learn things. But how we do all this will never be the same.

Also at the end of the ad as a quick little promotion for the new Mac OS X you notice the Alphabet fun app the kid in the video is using one of the words is LION. Good timing and good little promotion huh?

Apple lets Lion have a free copy of Xcode 4.1

Apple has made Xcode 4.1 free in the Mac App Store and on the Official Developer site. Xcode has been free with Mac OS X for many years now and Apple mysteriously made it $5.00 for all the non-develpers and now it is back to being free which doesn’t affect developers at all but for everyone else this is a great way to make your Lion apps! Go get Xcode from the Mac App Store or the Developer Connection.

Lion server available VIA Mac App Store

Well it seems the rumors were true that the new Lion server was going to be a Mac App store add on. The server will cost you $50 and here is what you get for all of that.

  • Have users on a server no more making one user for all your Macs, just log into one account using the server.
  • Profile manager will let you configure settings for users on the server.
  • File sharing for the iPad will make it easy to get your download files from your computer to your iPad like keynote, pages, and Numbers through webDav.
  • Push notifications to make sure you always know when you have a new calendar alert, mail message, and more.
  • Wiki server to allow users to make quick edits to a Wiki page.
  • iCal server 3 allowing you to share calendars with everyone on the server.
  • Mail server to have your mail everywhere.
  • Xsan which allows Macs that can access a Xsan volume do it.

Thats about it. A lot of things to cover today sorry for all the posts!

It is going to take me a few hours or days to download Lion but when it is done soon after I promise a video review of the features and what you can do with the newest OS. Well today seems to be a big day for Apple and I regret not waking up a little earlier. Well it seems Apple has released the new Mac Minis and MacBook Airs. It seems they didn’t release the New Mac pro or MacBook as we thought. The new MacBook air features Intel i5 and i7 processors, a thunderbolt port, and a backlit keyboard. The new Mac Mini has an i5 and i7 processor, a thunderbolt port, and it looks like to prove downloading is the future Apple has stripped it of the DVD port like when the MacBook Air was first introduced.

To Migrate from a Mac using Snow Leopard to a Mac with Lion you’ll need this

If you are planning to migrate from a Mac using Snow Leopard to a Mac using Lion you will need to get this update. Here are the release notes.

This update addresses an issue with the Migration Assistant application in Mac OS X Snow Leopard that prevents transfer of your personal data, settings, and compatible applications running Mac OS X show Leopard to a new mac running Mac OS X Lion.

This doesn’t matter if you are just going to be installing Lion on a new Mac though. It is only important if you are going to be transfering information from a Snow Leopard computer to a Lion computer. Seems we are getting ready for launch.
