uTime 5.2 Now Available

On the verge of another Apple Event (Woo!) uTime 5.2 is now available on the Mac App Store and iOS App Store.

uTime 5.2 brings a host of new features such as % of time counting (the circle now can remember what state it was at instead of constantly resetting).

uTime 5.2 also brings the iOS 14 widget to macOS on computers that will be running macOS Big Sur.

The official change-log:

What’s New:

  • Added WidgetKit to macOS 11 Big Sur! This will work in the same way the iOS 14 widget will: putting the closest timer in approximate time up to 15 minutes on your sidebar. Within 15 minutes a more precise timer will run!
  • MacOS Big Sur Support: uTime 5 on macOS has been compiled for BigSur!
  • % Of change: previously when changing timers the circular bar would reset its status. No longer! With percentage of time and our new data set we can calculate percentage of time passed from creation. This means the circular timer will not start at 0 but at how much time has actually passed from creation to now! Hooray!
  • Added a button in modify timer that will allow you to set the selected date to the current date and time.
  • Fixed a bug where selecting a timer would turn the action button title to done but not the state.
  • Fixed a bug on Mac and iPad where the wrong timer would get deleted when selecting the last one in the list.
  • Fixed a bug on Mac and iPad where the Timer would be deselected when scrolling a large list of timers but would stay marked deleted.
  • Small improvements to timer list screen on iPhone.

uTime 4.2 Now Available

uTime 4.2 is now available on the App Store for both macOS and iOS. uTime 4.2 has a lot of background changes and some front end ones too!

Here is the official change log:

What’s New:
4.2:

  • Multi-Platform:
    • When making a new timer on iPad/Mac, you will now be brought right to the modify screen to edit your newly created timer.
    • Fixed Issue with app crashing on launch after a background sync with iCloud
    • Behind the scenes update to handle app information: This will make less network calls and lead to less human error on update information
  • iPhone:
    • On iOS 13 when swiping down and changes have been made an action sheet will now ask you what you want to do with the changes. Saving will save your changes, discard will discard your changes, and Cancel will keep you in the modification screen.
  • iPad:
    • Slide to delete a timer is back! Slide on a timer to delete it from the list!

Along with this uTime 3.1 is available for Mac bringing changes to the backend information and a new delete button as the backspace key does not work on some OS X versions.

Crucial uTime 3.0.2 Update Now Available

main_icon

This was originally supposed to be a “uTime 3.0.1” is now available but while playing aroun with uTime 3.0.1 after it went live on the app store I discovered a critical big that the app would crash on the iPhone after adding a new timer and then navigating to the timer that was just added. I pulled uTime from the App Store shortly after finding this issue and patched, and submitted the fix with uTime 3.0.2. I am not sure if the problem originally was in uTime 3 but everyone who can should update to uTime 3.0.2.

Here is the official changelog for 3.0.1/3.0.2:

3.0.2:
– Fixed an issue on iPad where deleting the current selected timer would result in a crash
– Fixed an issue on iPhone when adding a timer then navigating to the timer would cause a crash

3.0.1
-Added the 3.0 changelog to iPhone…(Oops)
-Switched the Cancel and Save button on iPhone.
– On iPhone the Counting Down To: portion of the label has been removed

uTime 2 Now Available!

utime-icon-launch

With the arrival of iOS 10 tomorrow I thought it was time to step uTime up a notch! So I am very happy to announce that uTime 2 is now available on the iOS App Store!

One of the biggest things which you can find from this post is that the icon has changed a little bit. Of course it has our little stopwatch and name but the color has changed and it still is a perfect design.

However, if that was the only thing that came with version 2 than that would be a little disapointing so there are a lot of features baked into this update.

What’s New:
2 (Current):
-iOS 10 Support
-Today Widget! Now you can see how much time is left by using the today section of notification center! This keeps up to date with iCloud so everything is always up to date!
-If you have a device with 3D Touch Running iOS 10 if you force touch the uTime Icon on the home screen the widget will appear!
-Dark Mode: You can now select if you want UI Elements to be darker.
-Added animations to “change timer” sheet.
-Multiple timer deletion: You can now select multiple timers to delete all at once instead of having to swipe each one individually. Few!
-New Icon!
-Info Screen Text Improvements.

That’s right for the first time a uApps app has a widget for notification center (and if you’re running iOS 10 (which you should) on the homescreen itself).

The widget does allow you to move throughout iCloud timers and will be self updating with iCloud Timers.

I am so happy to be able to roll this out the same day iOS 10 launches and I hope all of you enjoy it.

uTime for OS X 1.1/iOS 1.3 Now Available!

uTime App Icon

Less than a week after launching uTime for OS X there is a new update for both the OS X version and the iOS version of uTime. uTime for iOS and OS X bring much needed improvements and features one would expect from a countdown app. The changelog for uTime for iOS is:

What’s New (iOS):
1.3(Current)
Introducing Notifications! This took a long time to implement, in fact I have been working on this since uTime launched… However I finally found the best way to make it work.
-Notifications will happen with all timers past the current date on startup.
-After adding a new timer you must adjust the countdown time for it to send a notification.
-Notifications work with timers on iCloud!
-Notifications will play the default sound on iOS.
-Notifications are local… They will work even when the device is offline!
-When adding a New Timer it will be added as “New iOS Timer”
-Fixed issue where the app would crash on launch due to array issues.

Along with this the official new name for uTime in the iOS App Store is uTime Universal to go along with our other apps (uFail Universal, uSurf Universal, and now uTime Universal).

However the updates don’t stop with iOS as uTime for OS X’s first update is being pushed along side uTime for iOS!

The changelog for uTime for OS X is as follows:

Version 1.1(Current): (OS X)
-Notifications! Just like the iOS Counterpart Notifications have come to uTime For OS X!
-Notifications will happen with all timers past the current date on startup.
-After adding a new timer you must adjust the countdown time for it to send a notification.
-Notifications work with iCloud Timers!
-Made it so the window is centered on launch(If not resumed).
-Made it so when launching the App it shows on top…
-Fixed issue where app would be a large blank screen on launch…
-Fixed issue where the countdown time would not update.
-App will now quit by hitting the red X!

That’s it for the updates. I know notifications were much needed and I am happy to finally implement them on both iOS and OS X!

Remember as a note you must change the timer after adding one for the notification to fire… This is due to the fact you dont want it to notify you right there when you add it! Changing the time will also change the notification time… Also you must open the App for iCloud timers to notify you on that device!
