uTime macOS 3 Now Available

uTime 3 No Text

After a lot of programming and testing I am finally glad to say that uTime 3 for macOS is available on the Mac App Store. uTime 3 of course still works perfectly with uTime for iOS which I will say I am slowly developing an update for as well.

With uTime 3 for macOS I wanted to make it more of a computer application and the best way I thought to start off was giving it a great new icon that wasn’t just a mimic of it’s iOS counterpart. The circular icon which is a theme with many macOS apps really looks a lot better than versions in the past and looks absolutely fantastic sitting in the dock.

Along with a new icon macOS also has a built in theme for “Dark Mode” and “Light Mode”. uTime can now detect what your computer is and will adjust the interface accodingly. If you have the “Light Mode” set for macOS then you will see a brighter interface. If you have “Dark Mode” enabled in settings then you will see a darker interface. What’s great is that when you change this option within system settings uTime changes with it with no extra effort on your part.

A smaller but greatly needed addition was that finally internet labels are available in the support view. What this means is that now you can see if you are running the newest version of uTime along with what the newest information from uApps is without having to go searching for it. Everything is in one easy to find place.

A big thing that is in this update is now you can see an approximation of how much time is left for EACH timer in your list. Under the date of when the timer is due, there is a new label that shows the maximum amount of time that is left before that date is here. Of course to save battery and not overload the processor this information is refreshed every 5 minutes, when a change happens with iCloud, or you make a change to a timer within the app (including adding one).

Of course there is also a lot of behind the scenes changes and bug fixes from previous mistakes that aren’t mentioned. Of course uTime 3 is a free update and free download to anyone. uTime 3 for iOS is currently in development and I hope I can get it out soon. For now, enjoy uTime 3 for macOS.

Outages

uApps Icon

If you have tried to load the info tabs on our iOS Apps today (settings for uSurf) you will notice that the load time for the view is very long AND doesn’t show any of our information tickers. This is due to the numerous outages along the web from DDOS attacks on servers today.

The server used for these tickers have been hit and are down so our applications are trying to load this data but cannot reach the server. Eventually the view will load if given time.

All should be back up and working sometime soon I hope but this is not something I personally control but thought I should give an explanation for why this occours.

Thank you

Important Update For All uApps iOS Apps

Today there is an update for all uApps applications for iOS. For specifics uTime, uSurf, and uFail all are receiving updates today to fix a future issue before it is an issue. The issue that is going to happen with all older versions of our applications is that the newest version and uApps news labels will fail to render.

On September 1st I received an email from DropBox stating they would no longer render HTML in shared links…. This presents a problem because every app we have uses this feature to pull the newest version and our uApps News label.

To resolve this problem I found a different host that is now apparent with all of the updates that are rolling out on the App Store today. The current labels will work until October 1st and then will just be blank.

While a little fix it is important it happens now so while I can still have the older labels running I can tell all of you to update your Apps so it pulls data from the new source.

That’s all for the updates(except uSurf has a button theme change).

Introducing uTime for OS X

uTime App Icon

After being in development for as it’s counterpart for iOS, uTime for OS X is now available on the Mac App Store. uTime for OS X brings the simplicity of uTime to the Mac. uTime for OS X supports OS X 10.10 and above!

From the official uTime for OS X App Store Page:

Welcome to uTime for OS X!
Just like the iOS Counterpart uTime for OS X allows you to have a countdown timer to a certain date.
Below you will find labels with information related to uApps and the current version of uTime for OS X. uTime refers to the iOS version while uTime for OS X version refers to this application.
All app updates are served through the Mac App Store.
Auto updates are recommended as they will keep uTime for OS X up to date with but fixes and new features.
uTime for OS X keeps in sync with your iOS devices so the timers on your iPhone or iPad are the same on your mac and vice versa.
uTime for OS X does not need an iOS device to function whatsoever!
uTime for OS X support can be found by hitting the web support button below.

This marks uApps first App for the Mac and I am very excited. Updates for both the iOS version and the OS X version will be regular.

Also there has been added pages specific to our OS X version. uTime OS X/uTime OS X Support.

Please note for iCloud syncing between iOS and OS X you must have uTime 1.2 for iOS.

uTime for OS X does not need iOS to be fully operational, they just work better together!

I am still very new to Mac Development which means there will be numerous updates to the application to change the UI and features. Remember to keep auto-updates on to keep uTime up to date. You can also see version information by hitting info.

A Note on uTime and macOS Beta: In the beta of macOS 10.12 I have found changes made from the Mac will not stay up to date with iCloud. This is not apparant in 10.10 or 10.11. This issue will be adressed when macOS 10.12 is coming closer to deployment.
