Next iPhone to use super oled display

Yes I realize I am super late with this story but hey better late than never. A report came out a few days ago that said worrying about your iPhone shattering whenever you drop it. The display is able to bend without cracking or anything, and it comes from samsung. One of Apple’s biggest display partners which has claimed to have a lot of orders from companies.

“We will be mass producing flexible OLED displays from the latter half of this year as the demand from our clients is significant,’’ said Kwon, who calls the shots in Samsung’s parts business.

“Apple is the iconic company in the industry that will continue to set the trends. If Samsung finds increasing industry demand for a futuristic product like flexible displays, it’s hard to imagine Apple doesn’t have something to do with it,’’ said an analyst from a U.S.-based investment bank.
Those were from samsung’s vice chairman Kwon Oh-Hyun and gave no names but we all know it is going to be the next iPhone. I know a lot of people that will be happy about this. Especially the 2 people in the picture above with cracked iPhone 4’s
Oh and a side note. I come from a high school and a very good friend of mine is working on a project for english class about Autism. She has made a great website on it and I think you should all check it out. Just as a little extra for all of you today! The link is also in the sidebar! Autism Awareness

Next iPhone to have a New Dock Connector?

20120514-074622.jpg

the part you see above could be from the much awaited next generation of iPhone. What is most important to note is the dock connector. It seems to have gotten a lot smaller than it has been in the past. However there is no telling if this part is actually legit. The component also has what I believe is a cellular antenna instead of a wifi antenna. Also noted there is a headphone jack all in a different organization than it used to be. However the most important is yes the dock.

The dock connected has been with us sense the early iPod years and this suggests Apple is probably ready to ditch it. If legit then all your old connectors won’t work… Unless apple is nice enough to give us an adaptor.

New iPhone+ Concept Restores My Faith in Concepts

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

After 2 horrible iPhone concepts I started to lose my faith. Then out of no where ADR Studio saves the day! The iPhone+ is full of features and let’s face it looks absolutely amazing. However the specs might not be correct they are pretty good and something I would love to see! Specs include:

– Liquidmetal Body: thermoformed on a single plane, no junctions needed;
– Screen with double alkali-aluminosilicate sheet glass;
– 4.3″ Retina Display with In-Cell technology;
– A6 Quad Core processor;
– Rear Camera: 10.0 Megapixel, f/2.4, 1080p Full HD video at 30 frame/s;
– Front Camera: 2.0 Megapixel (VGA), 480p VGA video at 30 frame/s;
– Rear motion sensor;
– Top pico-projector to beam photos and videos on any surfaces;
– Slim design for an edge-to-edge thinner profile;
– New slim-dock connector;
– Fully Capacitive Home Button;

Let’s face it this concept is great. I would love to take one of these home with a few tweaks. ADR Studios: You have restored my faith in iPhone concepts. Thank You ~Matthew Jagiela

[Report] iPhone nano might be coming this Fall

Every year there is talk about Apple releasing a smaller iPhone or a lower cost. Ever sense the original in 2007. However these have never come to be with Apple keeping the older iPhone as the low end cheep model. However China times reports Apple could once again be working on a so called iPhone nano to compete with the top level Android phones with a smaller price point. The 3Gs is reportedly too pricey at $375 (I thought it was free) to compete with the newer android models. However the iPhone’s have always been the best sellers of all the major US carriers so I don’t see a need for this to happen. Even if the phone is older it is a good piece of equipment making me say this is just another rumor that will not see the light of day… For a while anyways

[Report] Apple Preparing 7.85-inch Mini iPads to Cost $250-$300

Kokatu translates a Chinese report on the once again iPad mini tablet:

Chinese net portal, NetEase, has a story on a rumored new mini Apple tablet. NetEaseclaimed that the device will be released around the third quarter of this year to “counter attack” the upcoming Windows tablets. The report further claims that the devices will cost anywhere from US$249 to $299 and that there will be an initial 6 million units ready for launch.

This would be of course to compete with the other smaller tablets on the market such as the Amazon fire. However I don’t see a need for a smaller iPad. I can see why some people would want one though. However apps would be a hassle. Developers would have to make a 3rd version of their apps and that’s a pain for developers and consumers. I don’t see a need for it but others would disagree with me.

AT&T to begin unlocking off-contract iPhones Sunday

Today AT&T announced that starting Sunday will unlock off contract iPhones in response to complaints from Apple and iPhone users. This is great if you want to go to T-Mobile or are going to be leaving the country and don’t want to pay AT&T’s high international costs. Here is the official statement (via 9to5mac)

“Beginning Sunday, April 8, we will offer qualifying customers the ability to unlock their AT&T iPhones. The only requirements are that a customer’s account must be in good standing, their device cannot be associated with a current and active term commitment on an AT&T customer account, and they need to have fulfilled their contract term, upgraded under one of our upgrade policies or paid an early termination fee.”

So there you have it.

Angry Birds Space Review

Angry birds space was released last week and just like every other Angry Birds game it has risen to the top of the App store. However how great is the newest game? You might not like it just a fair warning.

Gameplay

The gameplay of this game is great. It is less challenging than the other Angry Birds games in my opinion. You have to deal with gravity fields and floating rocks in outer space to get through the levels. You even get some new birds that would have been more useful in the other games than this one. The gameplay is great but again sort of simple and the birds are basic modifications of the old birds.

The Good

The good thing is Angry Birds space will keep you entertained for a while anyways but I will get to that later. The levels are a little more challenging with the gravitational pull. I like the new birds for the space theme too.

The Bad

The thing that saddens me the most with this installment is that I see more bad than good with it. The birds are the same thing just with one variation of the yellow speed bird which is now a purple speed that has aim. The only new bird I can see is the ice bird turning blocks into ice so you can destroy them.

So much payed content. You payed for the game right? Wrong! You payed for maybe about half of the game. You get 2 sets of levels and then you need to pay extra for more sets of levels. Rivio do you really need the money cause I refuse to pay for more levels.

Conclusion

It seems Angry Birds has plummeted into a way just to make some more money for the company and the people who created it. I honestly don’t love it. It is too obsessed with getting you to spend more and more without offering anything new. It is fun for a couple of hours until you have to pay for the extra levels…. I don’t say it is a must have because it is the same as every other Angry Birds Game.

New iPhone concept shows a 4.6 screen [Concept]

Some of you might have seen this concept but then again some of you might not have. Anyways a few days ago there was a rumor that the New iPhone would have a 4.6 inch screen which is most likely false. However that didn’t stop from ADR studios which has created some of my favorite iPhone 5 concepts from dreaming up what it could look like. Although the concept is nice it is sort of ridiculous. The design is nice as they envisioned it with the bigger screen, aluminum back, and colored edges. Also with the concept the home button would be completely software based which some rumors have said would happen. Also according to this concept The new iPhone would have a side to side display with not one retina displays but 3! One at the top one in the middle and one at the bottom. Also the design calls for getting rid of sim cards saying the most advanced phone shouldn’t have old technology. I personally don’t like how they made the back with a bump sort of where the area of the iPhone 4 is now or the screen size or lack of home button. I do like the idea of the colored edges, colored edges, and aluminum back. Full gallery below!
