Angry Birds Space Review

Angry birds space was released last week and just like every other Angry Birds game it has risen to the top of the App store. However how great is the newest game? You might not like it just a fair warning.

Gameplay

The gameplay of this game is great. It is less challenging than the other Angry Birds games in my opinion. You have to deal with gravity fields and floating rocks in outer space to get through the levels. You even get some new birds that would have been more useful in the other games than this one. The gameplay is great but again sort of simple and the birds are basic modifications of the old birds.

The Good

The good thing is Angry Birds space will keep you entertained for a while anyways but I will get to that later. The levels are a little more challenging with the gravitational pull. I like the new birds for the space theme too.

The Bad

The thing that saddens me the most with this installment is that I see more bad than good with it. The birds are the same thing just with one variation of the yellow speed bird which is now a purple speed that has aim. The only new bird I can see is the ice bird turning blocks into ice so you can destroy them.

So much payed content. You payed for the game right? Wrong! You payed for maybe about half of the game. You get 2 sets of levels and then you need to pay extra for more sets of levels. Rivio do you really need the money cause I refuse to pay for more levels.

Conclusion

It seems Angry Birds has plummeted into a way just to make some more money for the company and the people who created it. I honestly don’t love it. It is too obsessed with getting you to spend more and more without offering anything new. It is fun for a couple of hours until you have to pay for the extra levels…. I don’t say it is a must have because it is the same as every other Angry Birds Game.

Well the day has finally come. The the day where your internet connection is going to go insane. The day Lion is available to download from the Mac App Store. Yes Apple has released the new OS today like they said they would at a giant 3.5GB download size. It is going to take me a few hours or days to download Lion but when it is done soon after I promise a video review of the features and what you can do with the newest OS. To download Lion just launch the Mac App Store and click the Lion banner and then buy, download, and install.

What Apple Should Do with Game Center

I kinda wanted to share my thoughts on what Apple should do with Game Center as there wasn’t really any good news today and there is a need for a good post today. So what should Apple do with game center. Well they need to incomperate some things to make it even better. One of these things is game syncing. Now what I mean by that is they need to save where we are in the game maybe incorperate Game Center and iCloud so whenever say you finish a level on angry birds it pushes it to all your other iOS game center enabled devices. I am sad they did not implement this with iOS 5. Another thing that should be enabled is sending messages. Yes text them but what if you don’t have their number or their iMessage email because you don’t really know them? That’s where you have a problem. You should be able to send a message to them to ask if they want to play a game or tell them to get a game you can both play through iMessage and have the option not to show you the email they use for iMessage. Apple has allowed voice chat over game center but you have to be in an enabled game. They should make it so you can have a group chat like xbox live or just 1-1 chat with someone like a phone call yes but again what if they are only your friend on game center and you need to communicate but the developer didn’t implement chat in the application. There is the problem. Some more things Apple should enable thanks to my friend Peter (@pwc87 on twitter). A thing you should be able to do is see if someone is playing a certain game instead of saying the last game played and how long ago that person was playing the game. Yes after you are welcomed by the “welcome back (user)” it updates your game status to last played but say a friend wants to play the same game they have no idea how long ago you where playing that! So it could have been an hour ago and you could be doing something important when the trumpet interrupts you. So if it says if you were playing now or an hour ago it would be able to keep you from getting interrupted. Game Center can handle all this, Apple just needs to enable it.
