New iPad Mini mockups show possible design

Ahead of Apple’s special october event to show off the “iPad Mini” reports are coming out showing what the device could like like. The images appear to be close to the iPad Mini design information we have been hearing. Note that the dock is the new 9-pin connector we have been seeing on iPhone mockups. The device shows little bezel around the right and left of the screen. However I still see the iPad mini as pointless it could be a good idea for someone who would want a small e-reader.

The iPad mini is rumored to be 7 inches and to be announced at it’s own event in October. The device is rumored to take rumored characteristics from the New iPhone which is rumored to be announced September 12th and go on sale September 21st.

Is this the new Apple Cable for iOS devices?

There has been many rumors that the next iPhone is going to be the first iOS device to ditch the 30 Pin Dock Connector for a new 8 or 9 pin dock connector, and this might be the cable for that connector. Apple is also expected to release an iPad Mini to go along with the new iPhone with this new style of dock connectors.

New iPhone and iPad Mini Parts Show Smaller Dock Connector and Repositioned Headphone Jack

We have seen photos of parts that have been said to have a new dock connector and a repositioned headphone jack to have all devices similar in ports.

New leaked parts for what is said to be the new iPad mini and the new iPhone have been released. High res shots of the dock connector reveals a smaller 8 pin dock that is rumored for all the upcoming iOS devices.

A new dock connector seems to worry a lot of people with accessories for the current dock connector. Hopefully for all of you Apple will release an adaptor like they did with Magsafe to Magsafe 2.

New Apple Goodies Rumored for launch around September and November

This morning iMore gave us launch details for the iPhone and iPad mini launch and now iLounge gives us more information.

  1. Next iPhone will ship in Mid-September
  2. 2 new iPhone cases will be released. The first will like the current bumper case and another will have additional features which may come after launch.
  3. iPod Touch will be released alongside the new iPhone like in the past with the same screen resolution.
  4. New Nano could be bigger.
  5. 7.85 iPad Mini  with a new 19 pin dock connector and will ship in November just in time for the holidays. This follows many reports that Apple is working on Mini smart vases and Smart covers that resemble the current iPad screen size.
  6. Finally, Apple will be updating it’s new full sized iPad line with a thinner design less than a year after release. The New 4th gen iPad will be tweaked with a new back side mic and a less hot thinner design. Sharp’s rumored late IGZO displays would have made the iPad thinner and less thick and power hungry/hot.

“Apple’s current plan for the fourth-generation iPad is to release another relatively modest body tweak, which would keep the shape basically the same while introducing the new small Dock Connector, a rear-side microphone, and spec-improving/heat-reducing changes to the hardware inside. The rear-side mic might aid in noise cancellation or improve audio quality during rear video recording, and is apparently just like one found on the iPhone 5, between the camera and flash; prototype iPad minis apparently have a mic on the back in the same place.

However there has always been a rumor of a New iPad being launched with the New iPhone every year and it never happens. I would bet we wont see another full sized iPad until early 2013.

And finally iLounge says that all of this could happen at 1 event or could be multiple events.

The next iPad’s release date is a big question mark right now. As noted with the * above for the iPad mini, Apple could hold a special event just to announce the sub-8” tablet, and our source suggests that Apple might be ready to refresh the iPad at the same time.

I still would like to think the next iPad will be announced early 2013 keeping Apple’s yearly schedule but who knows maybe they will surprise us.

Apple Launches iCloud Beta to developers with improved Calendar, Notes, Reminders, and Find My iPhone

Today Apple launched a beta site for iCloud.com where developers can test the new web features. The new features include Calendar improvements, the addition of notes and reminders, and improvements to the Find my iPhone application. To be able to get in you must have an iOS iCloud account running on iOS 6 beta or I believe an iCloud account running on OS X Mountain Lion. If you have an iCloud account with those then head to beta.icloud.com and sign in!

Apple Releases iOS 6 beta 2 to developers

Yesterday (yes I am late) Apple released iOS 6 beta 2 for members of the iOS developer portal. The update contains bug fixes, more bugs added, and some new features which I will add later. To download and install you must be part of the developer portal. You can either download the software from Apple’s Developer Portal  or if you are running iOS 6 already go to Settings>General>Software Update> Download. The Gears should spin inside the settings app but no the home screen icon stays still. So go and get it if you haven’t yet!

My favorite iOS 6 feature is actually the new stores

iOS 6 beta has been with us less than a week and I actually love it. I didn’t think I was because some things just didn’t make it that I really wanted it to but yes I love it.

However the reason may surprise you. It isn’t the new maps because I am running an iPhone 4 that doesn’t get then. I have Siri on my iPad but that isn’t it either. It isn’t even the way the apps look a new blue with a status bar of many different colors. It’s the redesigned App and iTunes store!

Some of you are probably thinking in crazy but here’s why. I had the original 3G on 2.0 when the app store first made its debut into the world. However it has been like that from 2.0 to 5.1! However it has changed!

We all know the frustrating feeling when you are browsing for apps and you find one you like. You don’t even need to press the app section to download it anymore! Just hit the price and buy it. Also we know the feeling when we want more than one app but the app store brings you right back to the home screen. Bleh! No more! Now it will give you a little progress bar and will allow you continue to browse the store saving you some time. This is all available on the iPad too!

I love the design and the functionality in the new app store and iOS 6 in general.
