Confirming that tomorrow might be the day that Lion Apple’s newest edition to the Mac operating system is that 3rd party mac sellers are starting to advertise Lion as shown above. This does help us confirm that Lion could be released to the public tomorrow morning. This Lang with the inventory shipments we posted in other articles below, a planned overnight for some Apple employes to install and get ready for tomorrow’s release, and the fact that AppleCare support centers have been going through training to get ready for Lion points to a near release. Check out the rest of the pictures from the store below!

Apple planning an overnight Tuesday
9to5 mac has a picture(above) with the label “visual merchandising” which is basically advertising in store. So this is probably to drives having the lion demos on theme reported in an earlier post stating that Apple retail stores and AppleCare support centers were getting hard drives to install Lion. With other shipments coming in to maybe some stuff for the new macs rumored to come out alongside Lion. Maybe other packages have the macs themselves. We will find out soon what are in these mysterious boxes hopefully on Wednesday and remember we will have a full review of lion right when we can!

Lion being installed at Apple Stores, Apple Care Support center.
It seems that Lion is being installed at Apple Stores. Or will be soon. Lion of course being rumored to come out wednesday at 8:30 AM EST. This statement from MacRumors states Apple stores and AppleCare Centers are starting to install the demos on the stores computers.
“We’ve now been able to confirm that Apple Retail stores have begun receiving final copies of OS X Lion today. The installations have come on hard drive and are meant for the Apple Retail demo computers on the store floor.”
So it seems that Lion is defiantly coming. 9to5macstates that AppleCare support centers are getting Lion to install and are having trading sessions for the new operating systems.
“We’ve received word that all AppleCare reps are now receiving Lion training as well as getting their computers upgraded to Lion. The process began over the weekend and looks to be completing today.
We’ve heard numerous reports that new Store display materials have been arriving over the past week as well.”
Also new MacBooks,MacBook Airs, Mac Pros, Mac Minis, and Cinema Displays are expected to come along side Lion which is rumored for Wednesday.
iPhone Nano?
With the upcoming release there has also been some reports of an iPhone nano or a budget phone going along with the next generation of iPhone. The phone would be a cheap alternative to the main iPhone 5 or 4S. BGR posted this article of what a source tells them.
“According to our source, Apple will indeed be launching a prepaid / lower cost iPhone this year.
We are told the handset will retail for no more than $350 without contract. Ready for the really interesting part? It’s entirely possible that the low-cost iPhone will in fact be the iPhone 3GS. Via BGR:http://www.bgr.com/2011/07/18/apple-to-launch-low-priced-iphone-for-350-iphone-4s5-end-of-summer/”
Seems expensive for a budget phone? Not really as it doesn’t require a contract with AT&T or Verizon. Of course there might be the option of buying the iPhone 4 with contract for $50 or by having the 3Gs by having the 3Gs a free phone with signing up with a new 2 year contract. Or they could have all of this together which might not be the worst idea they have ever done. The question would be what doesn’t the iPhone nano have that the iPhone 5(4S) has??

Is this the next iPhone? I say No!
Apple.pro has told users that a user has given them images of the next iPhone. If the phone pictured above is a prototype than it has the same design of the iPhone 4 I can’t really tell the difference. The software running on the phone is is what apple uses to test the hardware of the phone. Some phones back when the iPhone and the iPod touch first launched some devices shipped with that screen.

The image above is when the device is connected to iTunes. It appears to be a first generation iPod touch. I think this is fake. A little Photoshop magic because if you connect an iPhone with that screen than what’s the chance that iTunes would connect to it like the one gizmodo had. Also why would iTunes have it as a first generation iPod touch hint iPod touch be the image for the device. So I am calling fake on this.
What Apple Should Do With Notification Center
So there isn’t a lot of news going around today and I am still setting up the YouTube channel for developer tips so today I thought I would do a “What Apple Should Do” post. Now today I am going to focus on Notification Center iOS 5’s new way to bring you notifications so check it out after the break.

4.3.4/4.2.9 kills untethered jailbreak
It seems that jailbreak.me wasn’t the only jailbreak tool killed in 4.3.4/4.2.9 but the untethered jailbreak used from 4.1 was also closed. The 4.3.4 update was pushed really quickly to fix the security hole allowing a jailbreak on the device through a PDF vulnerability. Apple usually posts updates like that very quickly to make sure that their users aren’t at risk. This is a question of if this was patched to security concern or if this is another attempt to make jail breaking even harder so less people do it. Thanks To The Jailbreak Community for devoting time so we can have an easy jailbreak solution.
What Apple Should Do with Game Center
I kinda wanted to share my thoughts on what Apple should do with Game Center as there wasn’t really any good news today and there is a need for a good post today. So what should Apple do with game center. Well they need to incomperate some things to make it even better. One of these things is game syncing. Now what I mean by that is they need to save where we are in the game maybe incorperate Game Center and iCloud so whenever say you finish a level on angry birds it pushes it to all your other iOS game center enabled devices. I am sad they did not implement this with iOS 5. Another thing that should be enabled is sending messages. Yes text them but what if you don’t have their number or their iMessage email because you don’t really know them? That’s where you have a problem. You should be able to send a message to them to ask if they want to play a game or tell them to get a game you can both play through iMessage and have the option not to show you the email they use for iMessage. Apple has allowed voice chat over game center but you have to be in an enabled game. They should make it so you can have a group chat like xbox live or just 1-1 chat with someone like a phone call yes but again what if they are only your friend on game center and you need to communicate but the developer didn’t implement chat in the application. There is the problem. Some more things Apple should enable thanks to my friend Peter (@pwc87 on twitter). A thing you should be able to do is see if someone is playing a certain game instead of saying the last game played and how long ago that person was playing the game. Yes after you are welcomed by the “welcome back (user)” it updates your game status to last played but say a friend wants to play the same game they have no idea how long ago you where playing that! So it could have been an hour ago and you could be doing something important when the trumpet interrupts you. So if it says if you were playing now or an hour ago it would be able to keep you from getting interrupted. Game Center can handle all this, Apple just needs to enable it.
Leaked images show new Cinema LED Displays, with Thunderbolt.
It seems our little friends at macrumors got to see something that apple maybe didn’t want them to as the image above can no longer be found anywhere at apple.com. The image does have LION on the screen which means the display could end up along the new rumored macbook air, and regular macbook with the release of Lion the 26th.
The image above shows a Thunderbolt MacBook pro powering 2 of the thunderbolt displays. Only the MacBook Pros and iMacs would be able to support dual screens but by the time it launches the MacBook Air, Macbook, Mac Pro, and mac Mini will be able to support dual screens.
Thanks to macrumors for the pictures and story!
